Crocheted Hot Plate Mats: This set of crocheted hot plate mats is made of double Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. The mats are made in three sizes - a 16 inch oval mat, an 11 inch round mat and a small 5 1/2 inch round mat. The mats are easily worked in popcorn stitch.

This is a Mail Order Design Pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 2373 in 1939.  "Hot plate mats - an excellent last minute gift if you choose this jiffy crochet set!  Done in three sizes, the easy popcorn stitch them the protective thickness necessary".
