Crocheted Square: This crocheted pineapple square can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles. Depending upon materials, this square will measure 12 or 16 inches.
This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7431 in 1945. It was included in the Alice Brooks 1949 pattern catalog.
MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (700 yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook, OR No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook. Each square requires approximately 275 yards of heavy cotton or 190 yards of fine cotton.
