Crochet Chair or Davenport Set:  This crocheted chair and davenport set is made of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. Directions are given for a crocheted strip 54 x 12 inches; three strips are joined to form the chair back, five joined strips form the davenport back, a single strip forms an arm rest. If desired the chair set can be used as a buffet set or the chair back can be used as ends for scarfs.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 6630 in 1940. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (150 yard) balls and a No. 12 steel crochet hook;   The chair set requires 4 (150 yard) balls of cotton. The davenport set requires 5 (150 yard) balls of cotton.   The scarf ends requires 2 (150 yard) balls of cotton.
