Runabout Swagger : This pattern contains directions to knit the coat pictured. This is vintage 1936 pattern from Spool Cotton Company in Knitting Worsted in a color of your choice is a quite easy pattern stitch. The coat, referred to as a Swagger (pyramid shape with a flared back), is a marvelous loose fitting design, with long sleeves, thigh length, patch pockets, a banded neck and top three button closure. The pattern is sized for misses at 34-36 only.
Materials: Chadwick's Red Heart Knitting Worsted, 18 skeins of any color desired (1 ¾ ounce skeins); Milward's Casein knitting pins, 1 pair No. 4 (3 ½ mm. size) and 1 pair No. 2 (2 ¾ mm. size); 3 buttons to match.
Gauge: 7 sts make 1 inch (5 patterns make 2 inches) ; 7 rows make 1 inch.
