Description

Crocheted Square:  These two filet crocheted squares - made in a rose design - are to be worked in string or in fine crochet cotton. They may be combined to form bedspreads, tea cloths, scarfs, pillows and buffet sets; each design may be used alone if desired.      The squares may be crocheted at 6-1/2 or 10 inches. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 1420  in 1937.   

Materials: Unbleached crochet and knitting cotton in (800 yard) skeins and a No. 7 steel crochet hook;   or No. 50 mercerized crochet cotton and a No. 12 steel crochet hook;   Each square requires approximately 150 yards of heavy cotton or 92 yards of fine cotton.
