Description
Crocheted Square: This crocheted square worked in pineapple design can be made either of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton or of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. When joined together the squares form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs and other household articles. Crocheted in heavy cotton the square can be used as a pillow top or as a doily. Each square measures 12 inches.
This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 609 in 1946. The design was also featured in the 1946 Laura Wheeler Designs Catalog.
MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 30 mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook; or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook (Each square requires approximately 175 yards of fine cotton or 250 yards of heavy cotton)
