Description

Crocheted Square: This crocheted square can either be made of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 30 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the squares form cloths, bedspreads, scarfs, pillows or buffet sets.   Crochet the square at 3-1/2 or 5-1/2 inches square

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 5845 in 1937.

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in WO yard) skeins and a No. 8 steel crochet hook; or No. 50 Mercerized Crochet Cotton in (125 yard) balls and a No. 12 steel crochet hook. Each square requires 47 yards of heavy cotton and 32 yards of fine cotton.
