Description

Crocheted Toy: This pattern contains directions for making a crocheted dog with floppy ears worked entirely in loop stitch. Either 2-fold Saxony or French Zephyr Yarn or 3-ply Fingering Yarn can be used. The choice of the yarn governs the size of the toy. The crocheted dog is worked in sections and then the sections are joined together.  SIZE : 8 inches tall if made of 2-fold yarn or 9 inches tall if made of 3-ply yarn.

This is a Mail Order Design pattern purchased through newspaper advertisements and catalogs.  The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7290 in 1944  

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Either 1 (1 ounce) ball of white 2-fold Saxony or French Zephyr Yarn or 2 ounces of white 3-ply Fingering Yarn, a few yards of fine black wool, two round black buttons, about 24 inches of red ribbon 1/2 inch wide, a No. 1 steel crochet hook and some cotton batting. SIZE : 8 inches tall if made of 2-fold yarn or 9 inches tall if made of 3-ply yarn.
