Description
Crocheted Scarf : This pattern contains directions to crochet the scarf pictured. Although titled a jiffy scarf, the instructions are rather extensive, so I'd suggest this is an intermediate to advanced pattern. The scarf, or runner, should you prefer, is a simple yet quite pleasing design. It is oblong and features dual mesh blocks running through the center, surrounded by full rows of pineapples. The scarf will measure either 16 x 32 or 16 x 29, depending upon materials used.
This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspaper advertisements. The pattern was marketed as The American Weekly 3052. It was also released under the Alice Brooks brand.
Materials: Unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton in (700 yard) skeins; No. 3 steel crochet hook.
The 16 x 32 inch scarf requires approximately 450 yards of cotton. The 16 x 29 inch scarf requires approximately 410 yards of cotton.
