 "Crochet this bowl for fruit or flowers.  It has the effect of having a matching doily.  Basket and doily crocheted in one piece or doily alone".

Description

Design 594 : This crochet pattern gives instructions for crocheting the doily bowl centerpiece shown. Make two doilies, with slight differences in the pineapple motif, starch and join together to form the doily centerpiece .... or just use as doilies if you prefer. The doily portion is 17 inches in diameter; the bowl portion if 4 inches tall.

This is a mail order pattern, purchased through newspapers and catalogs. This pattern was marketed as Laura Wheeler 594 in 1957.  It was included in the 1959 Laura Wheeler Designs Catalog.  

Materials:   Heavy Jiffy Cotton or Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton;   No 1 Steel Crochet Hook
