Crocheted Halter: This pattern contains directions for a crocheted halter worked in a simple pattern stitch of single and double crochet with flower medallion border and neck bands. Use either cotton or 3-ply yarn in bright colors, or black and white.
This is a Mail Order Crochet Pattern purchased through newspapers and catalogs. The pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7362. The newspaper description: "Crochet a glamour top to wear everywhere with summer separates. Halter wraps and buttons to assure smooth fit at the waist. Jiffy crochet - easy pattern stitch". The pattern was included in the Alice Brooks 1955 Designs Catalog.
MATERIALS
Size 32-34: 4 (175 yard) balls of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton Or 4 (2 ounce) balls of 3-ply Fingering Yarn No. 7 steel hook
Size 36-38: 5 (175 yard) balls Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton Or 5 (2 ounce) balls 3-ply Fingering Yarn No. 5 steel hook 3 yards of 1/4 inch tape or ribbon in matching color or flesh color and a button 1/2 inch in diameter are needed.
