Crochet Bedspread Medallion Pattern, Star of East No 3035

Crochet Medallion Pattern - Star of the East:   This crocheted medallion can be made either of Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or of No. 20 Mercerized Crochet Cotton. When joined together the medallions form bedspreads, cloths, scarfs, pillows and other household articles. The medallion may be crocheted at 5-1/2 or 7 inches from point to point. 

This is a Mail Order Design pattern, purchased through  newspapers and catalogs.  This pattern was marketed as Alice Brooks 7240 in 1944. The pattern was also marketed under the Alice Brooks brand. 

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: No. 20 Mercerized Crochet Cotton and a No. 10 steel crochet hook or unbleached Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton and a No. 8 steel crochet hook.   Each medallion requires approximately 31 yards of fine cotton or 40 yards of heavy cotton.
