Barclay Tartan: This pattern gives directions for the pullover shown. The design, sized for man at 40, 42 and 44 is vintage 1951. The official description: All eyes are on Scotch plaid. Special for him – the Barclay tartan in black, gray, yellow and white for the front of a sleeveless pullover. Back is solid black". The sleeveless pullover, knit to included full page chart, has ribbed bands and v-neckline.
Materials:
- Beehive Scotch Fingering' Yarn, Patonised Shrink-Resist Finish, 3 ply, 7 (8-9) 1-oz. skeins Black; 2 skeins each No. 909 Heather, and Sunstar; 1 skein White.
- Royal Society aluminum or plastic knitting needles Nos. 2 and 4 (standard). English sizes, 11 and 9.
Gauge: 7 sts=1"; 9 rows=1" (stockinette st). 8 sts=1"; 9 rows=1" (pattern st).
