Crocheted Jerkin : This pattern contains directions for knitting, crochet detail, the garment shown. This is a vintage 1942 pattern - a time this garment was referred to as a jerkin. It is not more commonly called a vest, but could easily be worn as a sleevelss top as well. The pattern, worked in four colors of 4-ply wool, is in a checkerboard motifon the front, solid on the back, hip length, v-neckline and banded openings and zipper closure. It's a pattern with great potential and just one downside ... it is misses size 16 only.
Materials:
- 2 oz. each 4-ply wool or Germantown Red, Blue, Green and Natural.
- 1 bone crochet hook, size 3.
- 1 non-separable slide fastener, 8 inches long.
Gauge: 11 sts. = 2 ins. 3 rows = 1 in.
