Childs Westkit : This pattern contains instructions to crochet the Vest pictured above. When this pattern was issued, 1953, it was offiicially called a Westkit - A waistcoat (or) , sometimes called a vest or a vestee in Canada and the US, is a sleeveless upper-body garment worn over a dress shirt and necktie (if applicable). This particular westkit features an applique of a horse cutout from a patch with added yarn for the mane. The pattern is for young girls - size 4, 6 and 8. Instructions are written for size 4, with changes for 6 and 8 shown in parentheses.
- Zelta Zephyr Wool or 100% Dacron Fingering Yarn (1 oz. pull skein), Red (MC): 3 (3, 4) sks; White (CC):
- 1 sk. Irontex Patch (twill) to match CC for cut-out.
- No.2 plastic crochet hook,
- 4 (4, 5) buttons.
