Soldierette Pullover & Solider Cardigan: This pattern contains directions for both the cardigan and pullover pictured. This vintage 1951 design is a standard, rather easy affair, that are taken from ordinary with the cross stitch soldier and soldierette motifs. The official magazine description: "Any stalwart soldiers, junior grade, will cheer at the sight of these complementary sweaters with their dashing “his” and “her” soldier dolls marching around on parade. Design is worked in easy duplicate stitch". The pattern is written for size 4, with changes for 6 and 8 in parentheses.
Materials for Pullover:
- "Botany" Brand Saxatones, 2 (2-3) 2-oz. pull skeins main color (MC) White.
- Small amounts of three contrasting colors: 1st CC, Black; 2nd CC, No. 410 Medieval Blue; 3rd CC, No. 990 Begonia.
- Knitting needles Nos. 1 and 3 (standard). English sizes, 12 and 10.
- Tapestry needle.
Gauge: 8 sts=1"; 10 rows=1".
